If any of the criteria below describes you, you may qualify for $0 CNA training at LMCC under iTrain Provider ID 32255. Final eligibility is determined by your local AJCC.
The 7-Point Checklist
- You are currently unemployed or receiving Unemployment Insurance.
- You are a low-income adult based on local AJCC income guidelines.
- You receive CalWORKs or TANF benefits.
- You are a veteran (any era of service).
- You are a current or former foster youth.
- You were recently laid off due to a permanent business closure or downsizing.
- You are underemployed and earning below 70% of the Lower Living Standard Income Level (LLSIL).

What Happens After You Qualify
Your AJCC case manager issues an Individual Training Account (ITA). You bring it to LMCC, sign the enrollment paperwork, and start the next available CNA cohort. Tuition: $0. The next state CNA exam fee is paid separately to the testing vendor.

Who qualifies for WIOA in California?
WIOA covers low-income adults, dislocated workers, displaced homemakers, veterans, foster youth, public-assistance recipients (CalWORKs/TANF), and the underemployed earning below 70% of the Lower Living Standard Income Level (LLSIL). The local AJCC makes the final eligibility determination.
Do I need to be on unemployment to qualify?
No. Unemployment Insurance recipients often qualify, but you can also qualify based on income, public-assistance status, or because you were recently laid off due to a permanent closure. The AJCC reviews documentation during your intake appointment.
What documents will the AJCC ask for?
Typical documents include a government-issued photo ID, Social Security card, proof of work authorization, proof of income (pay stubs, tax returns, or benefit statements), and any layoff notice or DD-214 if applicable. Bring everything you can; the AJCC will tell you what's missing.
